Welcome
Our aim is to tell the story of how Britain’s miniature pleasure railways became such an important part of the country’s social history. We are now in the planning stages for a significant museum in Lincolnshire that will become the world’s first dedicated centre of all miniature railways heritage, along with an accessible resource of archive and documentary material for researchers.
Much miniature railway heritage has already been lost and many significant items have gone abroad to private collectors. The Miniature Railway Museum Trust hopes to act as a focal point to keep as much as possible safe for future generations, and display the collection within wider contexts of social and regional history.
